Hi my name is Jessica Kroeckel and I am a senior at California High School. Sophomore year on January 3, 2012 was a day that I thought was a tragedy, but soon realized it was a blessing in disguise. On that day I had torn my anterior cruciate ligament(ACL). As an athlete this was a nightmare and I was mortified. But what I didn't realize until later on, that because of my incident, it exposed myself to the professional field of physical therapy. My interest in PT has peaked so much since then that now I am interning at Diablo Physical Therapy in Danville.
For my last year of high school I would like to make this the most unforgettable year yet. I strive to get the best grades possible, figure out what college fits me best(hopefully get accepted), and enjoy my last year. But my overall hope is get that much closer to seeking out how I am going to impact this world throughout my life.
We never know how things are going to turn out, you know that saying "everything happens for a reason." Someday you will be helping another injured high school student and will be able to share your experience. Is it possible for you to increase the size of the font in your blog, it is difficult for me to read. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were in to physical therapy but it's really something I can see you doing. That sucks about your leg but I guess injuring really helped you. Makes you wonder what you'd be doing now if you hadn't hurt yourself. Anyway your blog looks really cool! And take care of yourself! We need you for soccer too!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you tore your ACL but I am so proud that you made the best of a bad situation. It shows that you are such a strong and dedicated person. I hope you figure out the right college for you, but I know wherever you end up you will do amazing things. Let's enjoy our last year together and I can't wait to make more awesome memories with you!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing your ability to find the positive in your incident. I think one day you will become an awesome physical therapist. You will shine wherever you choose to further your education. I am so excited to encourage you through this next step of our lives. This year will be the best yet and I wish you the best in everything you do Jessica!
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy that something you think is tearing you down is actually helping you start a new journey. While it's a shame that you tore your ACL in the first place, I think it's great that it led you to find a career path you're passionate about.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love your peers in this class....."I am so excited to encourage you through this next step of our lives." and "it's crazy that something you think is tearing you down is actually helping you start a new journey" Your friends in class may be young, but they know what they are talking about....Good luck.
